Moccasin Wallow Golf Club will be reopening for business on Thursday, September 28. Our golf course is in really good shape, we have just had to clean up the trees that had fallen. We look forward to seeing everyone in the near future..

Hurricane Irma update of course

I must say that the past 10 days have not been easy as we all waited on Hurricane Irma to pick a path as we prepared as best as we could for an unknown target. We are glad that everyone was able to get to safety as we are hoping everyone had minor property damage if any. We know that some were luckier than others and our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and family who may have been in Irmas way. The MOC Clubhouse escaped with minor exterior damage but the golf course was not as lucky. We have lost quite a few grandfather oak trees that very much framed the golf course. At first count there are 54 trees that have either blown over or snapped in 1/2. We had started clean up as we first must wait again for the golf course to dry out. Unfortunately we have taken another 5 inches of rain in the past 48 hours and we can not get on the golf course with any machinery for removal. Heavy machinery would damage many areas out on the course. We have ordered dumpsters for debris clean up as there is a bunch. Hole number 11 has littered the fairway that grass is barely visible. We have had mowers out as the greens , tees and fairways are really in fantastic shape. Grass has really filled in on our collars and roughs so we are getting the golf course back together. Some trees that have fallen have pulled up electric wires for our irrigation so right now we have no power to it.
We will do our best to continue this process and keep everyone up to date as to when we would be able to reopen.
Thank you very much and be safe.

Course Closed September 8th- September 11th

Today at the end of business we will be closing for the duration of hurricane Irma. Everyone is aware of the potential dangers of the storm and the unknown route Irma is taking. The latest European Model has had Hurricane Irma shift further to the west and we are taking all necessary precautions. We will use this weekend to fully prepare the golf course but most importantly give our staff time to prepare their homes and families for the unknown possibilities of this storm. Lets all hope Irma takes the route of most of your golf games and slices a hard right back into the Atlantic. Any news and updates will be posted to the Moccasin Wallow Facebook page, and also our website at golfthemoc.com

Thank you

Golf Course Management

Labor Day

We have just about turned the corner and summer is almost in a rear view mirror. We have been preparing the golf course for the upcoming 2017-2018 winter season and continue to make improvements to the golf course. In the end of April we laser leveled 75,000 square feet of our tee boxes and we have now completed most of our tee box renovations. We will continue to smooth them out as they settle and for those that have been playing you can notice how good they are. We are continuing with the spraying of weeds and getting a better Bermuda base in our rough areas. Our collars have filled in and we will continue to sod our bare areas and smooth them out so that we can have better playing conditions around the greens. Our goal is to get complete coverage of Bermuda grass. Thank you for all of your support.

Have a great holiday weekend.
