Sunday January 29th

Andy and have staff have been working really hard to get the golf course in exceptional shape. We have given a few tours of the property to give an inside look and the facility is morphing into one of the premier must plays on the west coast of Florida.

Inside the clubhouse Andy and Pedro are getting the kitchen ready for health department inspection and the electrician is working on getting all of our issues behind us bringing the facility into a great working facility so there are no hiccups once we open. The fire safety system should be completed tomorrow morning and called for inspection as well.

We have replaced all of the air conditioning units so the clubhouse will be a great comfortable area to come in and relax for a meal, a drink, or just a place to come hang out. Wifi has been installed as Verizon performed a miracle and ran close to 2500 feet of cable bringing FIOS to the building. DirecTV has installed the satellite dish as well as the boxes and we will be installing the Televisions as well.

Special thank you to Nate Ditchfield for having The MOC on the radio show teeitupradio.com and we look forward to hosting a live show in the near future.

Thank you for your patience and we will continue to update with information moving forward.

Friday the 27th of January

We wanted to keep you in the loop of how things are progressing. In May we purchased the golf course and set out a goal of improvement to the facilities both inside and out.

On The Course

Our golf course superintendent, Andy Roberts, started in late August.  Andy came from River Hills Country Club and Bloomingdale Golfers club as the head superintendent of 2 facilities.  We have known Andy since he started in the industry at the age of 16.

The start of the golf course renovation began with the pump house and irrigation system.  The pump station underwent a major overhaul that started in mid May.  Three pumps were completely rebuilt,  The intake line was cleaned of all sand and debris and we added a new intake screen which will help from any debris from entering the intake line and wet well.

The irrigation boxes were replaced with E Osmac controllers.  The new boxes allow us full access to set irrigation run times remotely from computers and/or phone.  These boxes were installed along with the LYNX irrigation software, which is the most up to date irrigation software on the market.  Along with new controllers and computer software we replaced 350 sprinkler heads that were not functioning properly or completely. One of our main goals is to continue working on sprinkler heads bordering the property lines to keep heads adjusted and from hitting homes surrounding the property.  If you live on property and a sprinkler head is hitting your home please email Andy, our golf course superintendent, at acroberts89@gmail.com and let him know.

Greens–  We re grassed greens with Tif- Eagle Bermuda grass.  We sprigged in late August and have full coverage on all greens.  Number 5 and 7 are a little behind the rest of the greens which is why you will notice a light top dress of sand to help maintain a smooth putting surface.  We are currently mowing at .110 and greens are stimping a 10.5′.

Tees and Fairways –  We  regrassed all tees and fairways with celebration Bermuda.  We started grassing September 6th and are still fine tuning a couple of them throughout the back 9, but are all 90% coverage.  Celebration is a very aggressive growing turf which will help the balls sit up for great lies and quick divot recovery.  We have eliminated the majority of the weeds on all fairways aside from some breakthrough in 13 and 15 fairways.  To eradicate these weeds we our spraying aggressively every 5 days and have eliminated the bulk of them.

We have improved the cart path surfaces as they are actually 8′ feet wide. All of the holes have been filled in with crushed shell and will continue to compact over time.

Whats to come-

The MOC is improving daily and will continue to do so.  We have and will continue our cultural practices to maintain and improve turf conditions.  We have plans to continue improving the club with a regrassing all collars, laser leveling driving range tee and all crowned tees throughout the property, cart path repair, and eradicating weeds in the rough this spring.

Tiger Woods makes big reveal on equipment change

Tiger Woods was using TaylorMade metal woods when he returned to competitive golf in December at the Hero World Challenge.

Soon he’ll have a lot more TaylorMade clubs in his bag.

“After several months of testing and all brand to choose from, the choice is clearly @TaylorMadeGolf. Proud to join the family! – TW,” Woods tweeted.

In joining TaylorMade in a multi-year deal (no financial information was disclosed), Woods will play the company’s metal woods, irons and wedges. Woods will work with the company’s club engineers and have a role in designing and developing a new iron model.

Woods, who returns to the PGA Tour after a 17-month absence on Thursday in the Farmers Insurance Open, still has Nike irons and wedges in his bag. He switched to a Bridgestone golf ball and uses a Scott Cameron putter. Woods started looking into changing his equipment when Nike decided to stop making it.

There is no set date when he will put TaylorMade irons and wedges into play.

Tiger Woods says heavy schedule is a concern as he returns to Tour

“(TaylorMade) is allowing me to take my time, and we’re going to develop my irons and make the irons and the blades that I want and that will fit my game and what I like to look at in. Not only the playing position, but also feel and obviously what shot window I want to hit it through,” Woods said after playing in the Farmers pro-am. “So we’re in a process of building that and it’s going to take a little time. We’re going to take our time and build up an iron that I like not only in the playing position, but how it feels and how it performs.”

Over the past few months, Woods said, he has tested every brand of equipment sent to him. He zeroed in on TaylorMade when he started seeing what the clubs were producing – in the air and on TrackMan, a launch monitor that tracks ball speed, spin, distance, etc.

“I tested with a variety of different companies and I found that TaylorMade and their setup worked the best with my golf ball and allowed me to hit numbers that I hadn’t seen before,” Woods said.

“So it was kind of no-brainer. … I’ll be playing my current Nike irons and the blades I’ve been using for years for right now until TaylorMade builds me the irons that I want. Even then, I still have to go out there and I’ve still got to do the testing at home and do the testing on the numbers but also do testing at Medalist (Golf Club) and hit shots and see how it feels and how it performs through the dirt. That’s going to take a little bit of time as well.”
